Each Saturday of the summer starting in June, volunteer Master Gardeners oversee a booth at the Black Hills Farmers Market, located at 245 East Omaha Street, Rapid City, SD in Market Park. Hours are normally 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and are dependent on the weather and market business. MG volunteers answer horticulture questions brought by customers of the market. The booth is labeled with a banner “ASK A MASTER GARDENER” and includes resource material on a variety of subjects. July at the Market is “Kid’s Month” and the Master Gardeners provide a garden related craft or activity each Saturday of the month. If you have a special interest and would like to showcase that on a Saturday, please let us know and we’d be glad to have you join us. Example might be succulents and how to care for them, or irises types, tips etc.
