
Plant Share
Project Description
This is a community event held in May; usually the first Saturday after the 15th but the date is dependent on the availability of the Walter Taylor 4-H building. The 2025 Plant Share is May 17th starting at 8:00 am. Pennington County Master Gardeners, along with support from the Rapid City Garden Club, offer this event to the community to encourage, educate and support local gardeners and those just beginning to explore home gardening. Master Gardeners, Garden Club, and community members bring plants to share. Community members who bring plants are given a coupon worth 4 free plants. Those who wish to participate but do not have plants may purchase a coupon for $1 (which is worth 4 plants). A free area is always a popular spot where you might find anything garden-related that has been donated by others. Master Gardener and Garden Club volunteers can help with planning, set-up on Friday night, during the Plant Share, or by providing
treats for the day. Approximately 200-250 community members attend this event.
